Tips for the budget tourist

Traveling around Switzerland may seem expensive at first glance, but with the right advice and planning, you can enjoy this beautiful country without overloading your budget.

One of the important tips for a budget tourist is to use public transport. Switzerland offers an excellent bus and commuter train system that will allow you to conveniently move around the country without spending large amount on car rental or gasoline.

It is also worth paying attention to the placement. Instead of expensive hotels, you can consider Couchsurfing – free accommodation with local residents. This will not only save money but also allow you to get acquainted with the local culture and get valuable advice from the owners.

Don’t forget to use BlaBlaCar, a shared travel service. This is a great way to save money on transportation between cities and make new acquaintances.

In addition, there are many free or inexpensive entertainment options in Switzerland. Enjoy swimming in the free pools or visit local attractions that provide benefits for tourists.

Switzerland is an amazing country that can be affordable even for a budget trip. Constantly look for tips and recommendations from experienced travelers to make your vacation unforgettable and more economical. Don’t be afraid to explore, save, and enjoy the stunning beauty of this amazing country.

Visa and insurance

To visit Switzerland, you will probably need to obtain a visa if you are not a citizen of a country that has a visa-free regime with Switzerland. I advise you to contact the Swiss Embassy or consulate in your country or visit their official website to get up-to-date information about visa requirements and the procedure for applying for a visa.

In addition to the visa, it is also important to have medical insurance for travel to Switzerland. Switzerland is a country with a high level of medical care, but healthcare here can be expensive. Therefore, before traveling, it is recommended to purchase insurance that will cover medical expenses, including emergency medical care, hospitalization, and evacuation.

Contact your insurance company to find out about the possibility of extending your current coverage to include a trip to Switzerland, or explore insurance options offered by specialized companies that provide coverage for international travelers.

Do not forget to read the terms and policies of the insurance company to be sure that you are fully protected during the trip.
